Kathmandu: The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-UML) has expressed strong objection to the government's decision to revoke the passports of five individuals, including party Chairman KP Oli.

The party alleges that the interim government has resorted to political vendetta, accusing it of taking retaliatory actions. UML Leader Pradeep Gyawali highlighted that the party is seriously concerned over issues like travel permissions and passport suspensions, especially so close to the Dashain festival.

During a party Secretariat meeting held in Gundu on Sunday, CPN-UML officially raised its serious objection to the government's recommendation for passport revocation.

"We have noticed the news regarding the recommendation for passport suspension, and we express our serious objection to it," stated Gyawali.

Additionally, the UML has called for a Central Committee meeting in the month of Ashoj (October).

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also been criticized by UML for its public notice asking not to investigate the destruction caused during the Janajati movement, further fueling the party’s concerns.
