Kathmandu – On the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the International League of Socialist Youth (ILSY) organized an interaction program in Kathmandu.
ILSY extended its greetings to the Korean people on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK, holding the event at Hotel Pauwa in Kathmandu Gausala.
“Following their victory in the struggle for justice, the Korean people established the DPRK. Korea, which firmly resisted imperialism, has developed itself into a powerful nation by upholding the belief that the fight against the gun must be fought with the gun. Despite facing numerous sanctions and blockades, the DPRK has become an example for other socialist countries,” said ILSY Chairman Subodhraj Serpali.
On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the DPRK’s founding, Phanindra Pant elaborated on the founding of the nation, the sacrifices of the Korean people, and the glorious struggle of Kim Il Sung.
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, also recalled his visit to the DPRK under challenging circumstances, highlighting his appeal for unity and peace.
“When preparations for the visit to the DPRK were underway, then-Prime Minister KP Oli, as well as Japanese and American ambassadors in Nepal, tried to dissuade me with threats. But I challenged them and went ahead. My visit was for peace and coexistence,” said Chairman Nepal.
CPN- Marxist–Leninist (ML) General Secretary C.P. Mainali also extended greetings on the 77th anniversary of the DPRK’s founding. Praising the dedication and sacrifice of the Korean people, he recalled his multiple visits to the DPRK and remembered founding leader Kim Il Sung.
To mark the occasion, ILSY also decided to send an official message of solidarity on behalf of the organization. The message will be delivered by Phanindra Raj Pant, a Secretariat Member of APRCFSKP (Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People).
The event saw strong participation from youth leaders of various socialist and leftist parties in Nepal, including senior journalist Rajan Karki. Leaders from the youth wings of several political parties also sent congratulatory messages on the occasion of the DPRK’s founding day.
