Kathmandu– The Interim government has imposed a travel ban on former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and three others.

Based on the commission’s recommendation, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to confiscate the passports of Oli, Lekhak, former Home Secretary Gokarn Mani Duwadi, former Chief of the National Investigation Department Hutaraj Thapa, and former Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rizal. As a result, they will no longer be allowed to travel abroad. Additionally, if they need to leave the Kathmandu Valley, they must seek permission from the authorities.

The travel ban comes in the wake of an investigation into the suppression of the GenZ movement, for which the commission was formed. Even if they need to travel abroad for medical treatment, they will be required to obtain prior approval.
