Socialist and Leftist Leaders Unite in Kathmandu to Support Venezuela

Kathmandu- International League of Socialist Youth (ILSY) has expressed solidarity with Venezuela in support of its national sovereignty. Calling for resistance against imperialism, ILSY urged people to stand with Venezuela.

"The fight against imperialism is the struggle of the global proletariat. To end the inequality created by the capitalists, it is essential for socialists and leftists to unite and move forward together," said ILSY Chairman Subodhraj Serpali.

The event was attended by leaders from socialist and leftist parties, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister, C.P. Mainali, General Secretary of CPN (ML), Subodhraj Serpali, Central Committee Member of CPN (Maoist Centre)- former YCL Chairperson, and current Chair of ILSY. Leaders from sister organizations of other socialist and leftist parties also participated.

Speakers strongly condemned the United States for reportedly preparing to deploy warships and troops against Venezuela.

At the event, Sudip Sharma, Coordinator of ILSY, thanked everyone for expressing solidarity against the actions taken by the United States toward Venezuela.

Other attendees included Rajan Karki, senior journalist and Vice President of the Nepal-Venezuela Friendship Association, Phanindra Raj Pant, General Secretary, journalist Tikaram Khadka among others.

The solidarity from Nepal was expressed in response to what was described as a series of imperialist oppressions being directed at Venezuela.

ILSY is a socialist advocacy organization that maintains friendly relations with youth organizations from 16 different countries. It consists of young leaders from socialist and leftist political parties.
