Kathmandu – Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, formally launched the “YCL Campaign on Labor and Production” at a special event held at Balkumari ground in Sunakothi, Lalitpur.

The campaign was inaugurated through active participation in various labor tasks such as bricklaying, grass cutting, tree planting, and cleaning the ground, alongside young volunteers.

While addressing the program, Prachanda stated that this labor campaign, launched nationwide by YCL Nepal through a policy decision, is a continuation and vital aspect of the Maoist Centre’s “Production Brigade” initiative.

“Following the unanimous formation of the Central Committee, I directed in our first official meeting that the party and YCL must take a leading role in national production and economic development. In accordance with that, such programs have been planned across the country. This campaign is deeply linked to the ideological and practical roots of the Maoist movement. I thank the YCL for this initiative,” Prachanda remarked.

During his address, he also called on youth to take a strong stand against corruption. Mentioning that the party has been highlighting the government’s failures and corruption in parliament as an opposition, he warned, “If the government continues to indulge in corruption like this, we will be compelled to launch a movement from the streets to remove it.”

The program saw significant participation from Maoist Centre youth activists, and YCL Nepal informed that similar campaigns are being run in 55 locations across the country. Prachanda urged the youth to stand at the forefront of production, prosperity, and the creation of a self-reliant economy.
